Originally from Greece, Tasso joined the Stanford PhD program to study databases and distributed systems. He dropped out in 2005 to start one of the first hyper-scalable big data companies, Aster Data, which was acquired by database leader Teradata for $325M in 2011. Subsequently, he spent several years at Teradata, solving data and analytics challenges for Fortune 500 Enterprises. Having seen how difficult it is for Enterprises to leverage customer data to improve Customer Experience (CX), he started ActionIQ in 2015. ActionIQ has become a leader in the Customer Data Platform (CDP) space, having raised $145M in funding and proudly partnering with some of the world’s top brands to help them drive more engagement, retention and revenue from their customer base.
