Josh McClung is a Director of Cleantech Strategy & Investments at Cox Enterprises. The mission of Cox Cleantech is to design and execute inorganic growth strategies that operate at the intersection of people, planet and profit. The team is part of the diversification efforts to create new verticals at Cox Enterprises – a privately held, global company with over $20 billion in revenue across two divisions in the communications and automotive industries.
Josh initially joined Cox Enterprises through its automotive division in 2015 as Director of New Ventures – leading the creation of new internal businesses, execution of minority investments and development of non-traditional strategic partnerships. The objective was to design and shape paths that diversify the company’s reliance on individual ownership to a new paradigm of shared access.
Before joining Cox, Josh was a Vice President of venture capital firm Sandbox Industries, co-founding and co-heading its innovation consulting arm – Sandbox Innovation Partners. It collaborated with Fortune 500 organizations around the world and across a diverse range of industries: automotive, consumer products, energy, insurance & media.
Prior to Sandbox Industries, Josh was an associate at investment firm KarpReilly and an investment banking analyst at Morgan Stanley and Lehman Brothers. He was also named a World Economic Forum Global Shaper. Josh is a proud alumnus of Indiana University who now lives in Atlanta with his wonderful wife, daughter and always happy golden retriever.
