As Coursera’s Academic Strategist, Dr. McAndrew collaborates with university partners to envision and execute the future of higher education on the Coursera platform. Dr. McAndrew joined Coursera from the University of Colorado Boulder, where she served as Assistant Vice Provost and Executive Director for Academic and Learning Innovation and Strategic Transformation. Under her tenure, Boulder’s Coursera portfolio grew from 16 courses to almost 200 courses and specializations, two degrees, and two MasterTracks. She was a key architect of Boulder’s innovative degree ecosystem that empowers learners through affordability, performance-based admissions, and fully stackable and modularized curriculum. Dr. McAndrew is also the instructor and author of the highly rated Business Writing course on Coursera, which serves students from 165 countries around the globe. Dr. McAndrew has won awards for her writing and original research, and she brings both private sector and higher education experience to her role at Coursera. Her professional background includes business development, new product development, academic program design, university operations, and online & MOOC education. She holds a BA and MA from Stanford University and a PhD from University of Colorado Boulder, all in English.
