Dave invests in IoT companies as a Managing Director for Intel Capital. With a keen interest in fog and edge related IoT businesses, Dave’s investment focus areas include the Industrial Internet of Things (AI, robotics, predictive maintenance, energy and smart building) and the application of computer vision technology to all areas of IoT (industrial, smart cities/DSS, smart home, retail….) Dave serves as a board member of Foghorn Systems and K4Connect, acts as a board observer for Keyssa, Inc, and manages engagements for Intel’s IoT groups with portfolio companies Landing.ai and Matroid. Dave started his Intel career in Finance where he supported Intel’s microprocessor and manufacturing groups from 1993-1999. Dave joined Intel’s Treasury M&A group where he completed over a dozen acquisitions from 1999-2003. As an investor in wireless and client technology companies, Dave invested in WiMAX, LTE, WiFi, RF, wireless services and spectrum companies for 8 years before joining the Internet of Things team. Sample prior investments are Beceem (acq. by Broadcom), Netspeed Systems (acq. by Intel), E2O Communications (Acq by IBM), Netscaler (Acq by Citrix), Sand 9 (Acq by ADI) and Newlans (acq by TDK/EPCOS.) Before joining Intel, Dave held management positions with Procter and Gamble and Chevron Corporation. Dave has an MBA in Finance from Cornell University’s Johnson School and a BA in Economics from Vanderbilt University.
