Anna Marie Wagner is the SVP of Corporate Development at Ginkgo Bioworks. She also served as the company’s Interim CFO from June thru November 2020. Ginkgo Bioworks is a synthetic biology platform with the belief that biology will become as easy to program as computers. Ginkgo designs and engineers “made to order” microbes for customers across industries, including industrial chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food and agriculture, and personal care. Ginkgo designs these microbes in a 200K+ sqft Boston facility that brings scale economics to biological engineering using robotic automation, custom software, and a massive data asset. The company has raised over $900M in venture capital funding and has partnerships with companies including Bayer, ADM, Cargill, Genomatica, Cronos, Roche, Synlogic, and Moderna. Prior to joining Ginkgo, Anna Marie spent nearly a decade at Bain Capital Private Equity, investing across industries but most recently covering the vertical software, internet, and digital media sectors. She holds a B.A. in Applied Mathematics and Economics from Harvard and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, where she was a Baker Scholar.
