Adam Miller is a tech founder, social entrepreneur, and philanthropist whose career has been defined by building institutions that scale opportunity, strengthen communities, and solve complex societal challenges. He developed a deep interest in leadership and civic engagement from a young age, participating in various high school activities, including study body president. It was around the same time that he gained early exposure to technology from his father– sparking a lifelong connection to innovation.
Education has been a cornerstone of Miller’s life having earned a BA from the University of Pennsylvania, a BS from Wharton School of Business, a JD from the UCLA School of Law, an MBA from UCLA’s Anderson School of Business, and passed the CPA and Series 7 exams.
At 29, Miller founded Cornerstone OnDemand. Under his leadership as CEO, Cornerstone grew into the world’s largest educational technology company, scaling to more than 3,000 employees across 25 countries and serving over 75 million learners globally. The platform has delivered more than two billion learning experiences in 192 countries, advancing its founding mission to expand access to education worldwide. In 2021, Cornerstone was taken private in a $5.2 billion transaction.
Alongside his business career, Miller has been deeply committed to social impact helping to lead the merger of FAAN and FAI to create FARE, now the world’s largest food allergy nonprofit. As a longtime board member, he supported the expansion of clinical research and federal advocacy, backed the UCLA Food Allergy Program, and launched AllerFund, the first venture fund focused on food allergy innovation.
In 2013, Miller joined Team Rubicon, a veteran-led humanitarian organization that deploys military veterans to respond to disasters worldwide, serving as Chairman
from 2013 to 2020. While leading Cornerstone, Miller also served as Chairman of the Cornerstone OnDemand Foundation, flagship initiatives include WorkforceReady and DisasterReady. In 2019, Miller founded La-Tech.org and launched the 1,000 Interns Initiative in 2020.
As Cornerstone transitioned through acquisition, Miller and his wife co-founded 1P.org, a platform focused on addressing some of the most pressing challenges facing “one planet,” including homelessness, gun violence, and climate change. Miller has also founded the nonprofit Better Angels, as well as co-founded Instil and Groundswell. He serves as Managing Partner of 1P Ventures.
