LOS ANGELESJan. 22, 2015 — The Montgomery Summit presented by Macquarie Capital today announced the speakers lineup for the two-day conference, which brings together investors and leading executives from private growth technology companies. Patrick Soon-Shiong, NantWorks founder, and Evan Spiegel, founder and CEO of Snapchat, the hugely popular messaging app, will join Andy Jassy, head of Amazon Web Services; Fred Luddy, ServiceNow founder; and Paul Debevec, VR expert and USCprofessor.

Los Angeles native, Spiegel proposed Snapchat as a class project while studying product design at Stanford University. Four years later, the app has topped 100 million monthly users and features advertising campaigns from big brands like Universal Pictures, McDonald’s, Samsung, Macy’s and Electronic Arts. The company has also partnered with Square to introduce an integrated mobile payments platform called Snapcash.

A key figure in the healthcare sector, Patrick Soon-Shiong made a name for himself after founding two drug companies and inventing the pancreatic, breast and lung cancer drug, Abraxane. Originally from South Africa, Soon-Shiong is currently the founder and CEO of NantWorks, a global network designed to allow secure sharing of genetic and medical information, allowing doctors to provide proven treatments to patients.

Andy Jassy leads Amazon Web Services, which provides infrastructure services to more than one million business and government customers around the world, and has been a fast-growing subsidiary of since its inception in 2006 with year-over-year growth of more than 40 percent and an estimated revenue of $4 billion a year.

Fred Luddy is the founder, Chief Product Officer, and former CEO of ServiceNow, a hugely successful San Diego-based IT service management company valued at $9.5 billion.

Paul Debevec leads the Graphics Laboratory at the University of Southern CaliforniaInstitute for Creative Technologies, where he has developed new ways of lighting digital objects that have been used to produce stunning visual effects in movies like King Kong, The Matrix and The Curious Case of Benjamin ButtonMIT’s Technology Review has called him “Hollywood’s Master of Light.”
