Peloton has brought connected automation to the trucking industry together with key investors and partners including UPS, Intel, and Volvo. Peloton’s first product, Platooning, links pairs of trucks together to dramatically improve safety and fuel efficiency for freight trucking, and will soon be deployed in major fleets. The regulatory barriers to initial deployments of this system have been removed, and key partnership deals with brake suppliers for integration are signed. These facts leave Peloton well positioned to be the first major automated vehicle business of any type.
